Garlic Herb Yogurt Sauce
From The Kitchen
Think of this as tzatziki without the cucumber — cool, garlicky, herb-flecked, and good on nearly everything that comes off the grill.
Scale
Ingredients
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 small garlic clove, finely grated
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh herbs (dill, mint, parsley)
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
Method
- Stir together the yogurt, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, herbs and salt.
- Let it sit 10 minutes so the garlic mellows and the flavors come together.
- Taste and adjust with more lemon or salt.
Storage: Keeps 4 to 5 days refrigerated. Stir before serving.
Serve it with
- Grilled kebabs and lamb chops
- Falafel or chickpea bowls
- Roasted or grilled vegetables
- As a dip for warm pita
Gina's tip
Grate the garlic rather than mincing it — it melts into the yogurt so no one bites into a raw piece.
Coach's Note
A cool, creamy sauce turns a simple grilled dinner into a spread. Set it on the table and let everyone help themselves.
I hope this recipe finds a place in your kitchen as it has in mine. Enjoy!
