Welcome to GLOW, Gina's Lifestyle Of Wellness, my private Pilates studio in the heart of Ridgewood, NJ, on the second floor of a beautiful 1890 building with twelve-foot ceilings and rooms that feel like they hold a lot of history.
I began teaching in 1998 in Tenafly, NJ, where I eventually built Flow Pilates Centre into a thriving 3,000-square-foot studio with eighteen teachers. I loved that chapter of my career, but when the time felt right, I sold Flow and chose to return my attention to the work itself.
That decision brought me to Ridgewood and to exactly what I wanted to create next: highly individualized, anatomy-based work, one-on-one and duet, with full Merrithew apparatus and the time and attention to really see the person in front of me.
Big group classes have their place, but they can't see what your body actually needs. One-on-one, I can.
Every session is built around you, your alignment, your pelvic floor, your breath, and the way you actually move through the day. My work is rooted in Pilates, alignment, control, and precision, and built outward to include Callanetics, strength training, Yamuna Body Rolling when needed, and functional movement.
A great deal of it starts at the feet. Yamuna Foot Fitness and the Pilates Foot Corrector, alongside the apparatus, with gait and postural analysis, because posture is built from the ground up. How you stand and how you walk decide most of what happens above them.
GLOW is intentionally personal. I occasionally offer master classes, but the heart of the studio is one-on-one and duet work. I want the women who come here to feel that this is a little something special they've chosen for themselves.
Sessions are available in studio or virtually via Zoom or FaceTime. Mindfulness, dietary, and lifestyle coaching are included in every program at no additional cost.
A minute inside my head while I’m with a client.
Some of what I’m looking for builds up quietly over years: the head drifted forward, and each inch adds about ten pounds of load to your neck, the shoulders rounding in, the imbalances that make a body reactive today and turn into pain or injury down the road. We retrain those early, before they settle in, so you stay strong, stable and moving well in the life you actually have.
When you’re working with me, here’s what’s actually going through my head. I’m watching how you move. Where you’re holding, where you’re compensating, what’s strong and what’s ready to wake up. And the whole time I’m asking one quiet question: what does this body need today? Because no two bodies are alike, and no two days are alike. So instead of running you through the same routine as everyone else, I move you through the planes your body is designed for: forward and back, side to side, extension, rotation. But only the ones that are right for you. Every body is different. One might be building strength, another moving through menopause or pregnancy, another protecting a spine or coming back from an injury. I meet you exactly where you are. That’s the whole difference, a routine can’t see you, one on one, I can.
Available in-person and via Zoom or FaceTime, in 60-, 45-, or 30-minute formats. Every fitness session incorporates essential dietary guidance. Your first 30-minute demo is complimentary. Most people start with a call.
Slow is also a pace.
Gina SantangeloEverything available in the studio and virtually, mixed and matched within any session to fit your body and your goals.
After decades of teaching movement, I've learned to read a body the way most people read a page, where it's holding, where it's compensating, and what it's ready for. No two sessions look the same, because no two bodies, or days, are the same.
I teach private and semi-private sessions in studio and virtually via Zoom. Over the years I've distilled a lifetime of movement into three signature programs, each one meeting the body at a different place:
Classical and Contemporary Pilates across the full Merrithew apparatus and mat: Reformer, Cadillac Tower, Ladder Barrel, Arc Barrel, Spine Corrector, the Stability Chair, and floor work. Decades of teaching distilled into alignment, control, and precision, tuned to your body.
Everything in GLOW Body Pilates, expanded. Apparatus and mat woven together with Ballet Barre, Callanetics, and Yamuna Body Rolling for strength, alignment, and whole-body integration.
A strength-driven evolution of Pilates that builds lean muscle and bone density for the long arc, so you stay strong, capable, and independent as the decades add up. Explore the program →
Mindfulness, dietary, and lifestyle coaching are woven into every program at no additional cost.
You never have to know which one you need, I read the body in front of me, and in the end, we all get there strong.
