The season your body remembers it belongs outside.
May is when the body remembers it belongs outdoors. Longer walks, hands in the dirt, shoulders coming down without being told to. This issue is about taking the practice out of the room: what to do with the warm light while it is here, and how to come back in afterward without seizing up. Gina

Water, essentially, with minerals and a good deal more charm.

It counts, and I wish more women believed it. Walking is load bearing. It is good for your bones, your blood pressure, your mood and your sleep, and you will still be doing it at eighty, which is more than most programs can promise. What it will not do is much for your upper body, your balance, or your ability to get up off the floor without thinking about it. So do not trade one for the other. Walk all summer, every chance you get. Then give me ten minutes of something else a few times a week, for the things walking cannot reach.

Something loosens in May. More light, more air, and the year is no longer a blank page you are afraid to mark.
This is the easiest month of the year to begin, which is exactly why it slips past so many people.
It does not take a plan. It takes one step, taken now rather than in September.
