Hip Circles
The Work · Move 6 of 9 · 10 each way

Why this one
The hips are the body’s biggest joints and stiffen fast from stillness. Circling them loosens the sockets and relieves the compression that gathers in the low back overnight.
How to do it
Hands on your hips, feet slightly wider than hip-width. Tracing a big circle with your tailbone, circle your hips 10 times to the right, then 10 times to the left.
Keep in mind
Big, slow circles — loosen, don’t strain.
Every move: lightly lift your pelvic floor — a gentle lift, never a clench — and breathe slow and full (hold the stretches for about 5 easy breaths, at least 30 seconds). New to the lift? →
