Movement · Post-Walk Stretch
Hamstring Stretch
The Work · Move 3 of 8

Why this one
Walking repeatedly contracts the hamstrings. Lengthening them afterward eases the tightness that pulls on the low back and keeps your stride long and easy.
Hold 30–45 sec each side
Breath — Slow, relaxed breathing
How to do it
Step your right foot forward, toes up, leg straight. Bend your left knee slightly and hinge forward from the hips over the front leg. Keep your spine long. Switch sides.
Keep in mind
Hinge at the hips — don’t round your back.
Every move: lightly lift your pelvic floor — a gentle lift, never a clench — and breathe slow and full (hold the stretches for about 5 easy breaths, at least 30 seconds). New to the lift? →
