Shoulder Circles
Why this one

The shoulders round forward in sleep just as they do at a desk. Circling them back opens the chest and wakes up the upper back first thing.

8–10 reps

Breath — Inhale to lift the shoulders · Exhale to circle them back

How to do it

Stand tall, arms relaxed at your sides. Shrug both shoulders up toward your ears, roll them back in a broad circle, squeeze the shoulder blades together as they drop, and press forward. Five loops, then reverse.

Keep in mind

Make the circles big and slow.

Every move: lightly lift your pelvic floor — a gentle lift, never a clench — and breathe slow and full (hold the stretches for about 5 easy breaths, at least 30 seconds). New to the lift? →
