Does My Home Support My Health?

The most important question about your home isn’t what’s in it — it’s what it makes easy. A home that supports your health is one where the healthy choice is simply the nearest one.
Beyond the chemicals
We spend a lot of energy asking what to take out of a home. The deeper, gentler question is what a home invites. Does yours make the good choice the easy one? That single shift — from avoiding harm to building support — is the whole heart of The Way.
Does it make eating well easy?
A bowl of fruit where you’ll actually see it. Filtered water within reach. A clear stretch of counter to cook on. A table set for real meals, not just a landing pad for keys. When the healthy food is the visible, easy food, you eat it.
Does it invite you to move?
Leave your Pilates mat out where you can see it. Shoes by the door. A little floor space to stretch in. What stays out gets used; what’s tucked away is forgotten.
Is there somewhere to be quiet?
One chair. One corner. A single place you can sit and breathe without a screen. It doesn’t take a meditation room — it takes a spot that’s yours.
Does it let you sleep?
Cool, dark, and uncluttered — the three things a body needs to repair overnight. More on that in The Healthy Bedroom.
Does it let in light and air?
Natural light lifts your mood and steadies your rhythms; open windows clear the air better than almost anything. Both are free.
Walk through your home once, gently, and ask of each room: does this make my healthy life easier, or harder? Then change one thing. That’s enough.
When the mind needs somewhere to land
Everything in this wing points, in the end, to the same place — the breath, and the nervous system beneath it. It is why I built SOVA: a quiet companion for the moments in between.
- Today — a daily practice that aligns you before the day pulls you a dozen directions.
- Companion — a place to process any feeling, even the happy ones.
- Pages — a soft place to set your thoughts down and out of your head.
- The House — rooms of calm to step into, whenever you need one.
