Seated Forward Fold

Seated Forward Fold
Why this one

A slow fold releases the low back and hamstrings that tighten from a day of sitting and standing, and letting the head hang quiets a busy mind.

How to do it

Sit tall, legs extended with a soft bend in the knees. Inhale to lengthen, then exhale and fold gently from the hips, reaching toward your shins, ankles or toes. Let your neck go heavy.

Keep in mind

Fold from the hips, not by rounding hard at the waist.

Every move: lightly lift your pelvic floor — a gentle lift, never a clench — and breathe slow and full (hold the stretches for about 5 easy breaths, at least 30 seconds). New to the lift? →
