Stand on One Foot
The Work · Move 2 of 11 · 30 sec each

Why this one
Balancing on one foot is one of the truest markers of how well we age — and the good news is it’s trainable at any age. The more you practice, the longer it keeps you steady.
How to do it
Near a counter, rest your fingertips on it and shift your weight onto one foot. Lift the other foot just off the floor and hold. Then switch sides.
Keep in mind
Fingertips on the counter are plenty — you don’t need to grip. Fix your eyes on one spot ahead.
Every move: lightly lift your pelvic floor — a gentle lift, never a clench — and breathe slow and full (hold the stretches for about 5 easy breaths, at least 30 seconds). New to the lift? →
