What I Actually Drink in a Day

What I Actually Drink in a Day
The short answer

People ask what I drink, so here it is — honestly, and nothing fancy. It comes down to water first, a little caffeine early, and calm, caffeine-free things as the day winds down.

Water, first and most

I start the day with a glass of water before anything else, and it stays with me — filtered, sometimes with lemon or cucumber. It’s the foundation everything else sits on.

My morning lift

This is where my caffeine lives — a matcha or a good coffee, enjoyed early and kept simple. The L-theanine in matcha gives me calm, even energy without the jitters, which is why I lean on it.

Sparkling for the afternoon

When I want something with a little life to it, plain sparkling water does the trick — no sugar, no sweeteners, just bubbles. It’s my stand-in for anything I don’t need.

Winding down

As the afternoon fades, I switch to caffeine-free — rooibos or a herbal tea. Warm, soothing, and gentle on sleep, which I protect fiercely.

What you won’t find much of

Not much juice, soda, or sweetened anything — not from strictness, just because they don’t make me feel good. The one exception is a fresh green juice in certain seasons, when the produce is at its peak and I want that hit of greens. Otherwise, I’d rather spend the sweetness on real food.

Gina’s note

This is just what works for me — yours will look different, and that’s the point. Find the few drinks that genuinely make you feel good and keep them close. Consistency, not perfection, every time.
