Low Box Step-Up with Stomp
The Work · Move 7 of 15

Starting position
Stand facing a low, stable step — a 4-inch aerobic step or the bottom stair.
8–10 sets
Breath — Inhale to prepare · Exhale to execute
How to do it
Step one foot fully onto the step, press through the heel to lift, and as your other foot meets the top, bring it down with a firm, audible stomp. Step down with control and alternate.
Keep in mind
The stomp should be firm enough to feel a distinct vibration in the leg — never hard enough to hurt.
Every move: lightly lift your pelvic floor — a gentle lift, never a clench — and breathe slow and full (hold the stretches for about 5 easy breaths, at least 30 seconds). New to the lift? →
