Movement · Standing Arm Series
Standing Curls
The Series · Move 3 of 8

Why this one
Sculpts and tones the arms with the elbows lifted, so the center stays in the work.
8–10 reps
Breath — Inhale to reach arms long · Exhale to curl in toward the temples
How to do it
Stand tall, arms in front of you with the elbows lifted a little higher than an ordinary curl. Curl the weights in toward your temples as you exhale, then lengthen the arms long again on the inhale — the elbows staying high and steady throughout.
Keep in mind
The elbows stay lifted and quiet; the movement lives only in the forearms.
Every move: keep the weights light (1–3 lb) and move from your center. If your back arches or your ribs flare, the weight is too heavy — set it down and use your own resistance. The full series →
