The light comes back, and so does the urge to do everything at once.
March is when the light returns, and something in you wants to leap at it. The whole house cleaned, the whole body changed, all of it done by April. I have watched that surge arrive every spring for thirty years. It is real energy and it is worth having. It just spends better in one direction than in nine. Gina

Blood oranges are still here in March and gone by May. Crisp, bitter, bright, exactly what winter food is not.

Pick one. I know that is not what anyone wants to hear in March. The surge feels like it can cover five new things, and it can, for about eleven days. Then one busy week arrives and all five go down together, and you conclude you have no discipline, which is not what happened. What happened is that you spread one portion of energy across five plates. Put the whole portion on one plate. When it stops taking effort, and you will know when, add the second. By June you will have two things you actually do, instead of five you used to do.

Spring hands you something in March. A little more light, a little more energy, and the sense that change is possible again.
The mistake is spending it on whatever is loudest. The garage. The ambitious plan that looks like somebody else’s life.
Before you spend it, name the thing. Not the resolution. The real one, the one you have been circling for a while now.
