Fire Cider
From The Kitchen · Tonics & Shots · The immune classic · make ahead
In a quart jar
- ½ cup grated horseradish
- ½ cup chopped onion
- ¼ cup chopped garlic
- ¼ cup grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon turmeric · ½ teaspoon cayenne
- Raw apple cider vinegar, to cover
How to make it
Cover everything with raw ACV, cap, and steep 4 weeks in a cool spot, shaking daily. Strain, then stir in raw honey to taste. Take a tablespoon at the first sign, or daily through cold season. It bites — that's the point.
A gentle word
This is a traditional, food-based tonic — comfort and support, not medicine, and not a cure for anything. If you’re pregnant, nursing, on medication, or genuinely unwell, check with your doctor first. And no honey for babies under one year.
To your health — the real, homemade kind.
